Is there any truth to Astrology/Star Signs? I would like to know if searching for a compatible star sign is really going to achieve something or is it just a load rubbish. If you had a party or say, 100 ppl and purposely put in this party 20 "perfect matches" - ideal star sign match. Would these ppl NATURALLY gravitate towards each other? Is this why some marriages last upwards of 70 +yrs? Did these ppl naturally felt "instinct" to be together?

Why are so many gay men obsessed with astrology/star signs? I go out to bars and I've heard men say things like their star/birth sign when meeting new people, as though it's actually important and I've even dated men who were obsessed about the idea of us being astrologically compatible that way and they refused to date certain men who weren't astrologically compatible with them. Even online people will write their astrological sign in their profile as though it's important. I view astrology as a fun thing but I don't take it seriously. And the constellations don't change every 12000 years, if at all they change, they go back 30° in the zodiac every odd 2100 years. As they were used for navigation for modern western astrology - and I'll say it again; Misconception #1: Astrology has nothing to do with the stars, why do people keep on thinking it does? As for the Earth's tides; they are the effect of the moon's gravitational force. oh and fitzbaby - that is the precession of the equinoxes. The Earth does a complete rotation backward in roughly about 25000 years, not 12000. Many astrologers are aware of this event; in fact it is that event that determined the position of the signs of the zodiac (not to be confused with the constellations of the zodiac wheel). Vedic Astrology uses a zodiac system based on the constellation, western astrology uses a zodiac system based on the Earth. Which means that in western astrology, zodiac signs make a complete circle every 25000 years just like the Earth does. No matter where other planets are in regards to the constellations, they will always be in the same position in regards to the Earth.

Can a star sign predict your sexuality? If not, isn't that one huge failing of astrology? There are plenty of people that give credence to astrology, but I've never heard of astrology being able to predict sexuality, which is very bizarre because surely that would be something that people would be keen to know. Dizzy young girls in love who turn to the stars to consult on compatibility with the object of their affect might want to know whether the guy is gay first, before finding out strategies based on whether he's a Gemini or Taurus. My personal opinion i would have to be i think is kind of silly! I mean its what the person is like not what star sign is supposed to suite you best? And with horoscopes ,check different magazines,newspapers or internet for the same day/week half the time they all say something completely different and don't have anything with in the same meaning! Can someone explain why every star sign in Yahoo horoscopes is the exact same word for word for Oct 5th? Can some astrology believer explain how all star signs are having an identical day on 5th of Oct on yahoo horoscopes or is this proof that the writers of this rubbish dont truly believe either,or dont bother to earn their wage? "Those are generalized horoscopes" .Sure are you cant get more generalized than all 12 star signs being word for word identical, something tells me i shouldnt put too much weight to what horoscopes have to say.

What is the true basis of Astrology? What do zodiacal signs, some arbitrary configuration of some stars lined together, have to do with complex entities like "Water Bearer" for example? Where do these zodiacal names come from? And what is the basis of association between the arbitrarily joined stars, the signs and certain human traits? When you check the astronomical position of the sun, you find it is not really in the sign where a common horoscope would say it is (Sidereal vs. Western Astrology). Why? Is there logic and natural laws playing in this at all, or is astrology just some empty show to make fools of and get the money of many?

Being born on May 4th, that makes me a Taurus, and from the time I was a preteen to maybe about the beginning of my freshman year in high school, I was really into the whole astrology thing and seeing which signs were compatible etc. As time went on though, I pretty much abandoned the whole concept of reading horoscopes, sign compatibility, unless it was just for fun. I know that there are people out there who believe that the star signs can determine ones personality, and their romantic fate, but I on the other hand just live life, and often feel like the odd one out (people here in Detroit, seem to be really into it AFAICT). My girlfriend is a Scorpio and many people have given us a hard time about our 'opposite signs'. Sorry, but a person's astrological sign does not determine his or her personality. What determines a person's personality is his or her genes and environment. A star sign does not influence a person's biochemical reactions in his brain.
