Which Chinese zodiac animal is most like the scorpio of western astrology?

I read somewhere that the scorpio relates to a specific animal on the chinese zodiac, based on similar characteristics, not on the year of birth. Does anyone know which one it is? I think it might be the snake... Thanks for your help!

2. I did some research and it seems the Chinese equivalent is thought to be the strong, resolute Pig, but personally I think they are the Snake, too. So EVIL!! <--- not a bad thing
