why does everyone say that horoscopes and star signs are a load of rubbish?

i just asked a question asking if i needed to be good at all aspects of science to become an ASTROLOGER! and everyone said that astrologers are weirdos and just need to know how to make people happy and to make things up!? i think horoscopes and star signs and everything are true and i want to become an ASTROLOGER and a historian! x what do you think?

2. I'm no astrologist, and I like looking at horoscopes for fun. Not for anything serious. I'm Scorpio and some of the stuff fits, but a lot of it doesn't. I read once that we marry for money. I would never do that. But if you wanna be an astrologer then go ahead and ignore what ppl say.
3. I make a good living at being an astrologer and love my work. You nowadays can get a phd in astrology. People who comment negatively about the topic, do not know the subject, have never studied the subject, and probably have had the sun sign column as their only source of education, and think they know something. I am not here to defend astrology, don't have to, I have studied the topic for over 40 years, and know that it works.
4. don't listen to other people most of them are stupid and if you want to be an astrologer or historian then do it and don't give a fuck about what anyone else says
5. i actually think astrology is quite true. most of the people who say its crap is beacuse they dont get in depth, or read more about it to see if its worth the time. its not for everybody anyways. But its fun, it says a lot about my character and the grand possibilities, so if you believe it then it doesnt really matter what the rest of them are talking about!!!!

Don't listen to what anyone says about star signs and astrology because only your opionions on it matters, especially if you believe in it that much to want to base your life on it. The question you've asked is a difficult question to answer, much like believing in religion. Alot of people believe and don't believe in horiscopes. Alot of things nowadays have been altered for the media, and to apply to a wide range of people. This makes people believe that star signs etc are a load of rubbish. But at the same time people can read a star sign, and believe it relates to them. I believe to an extent, star signs can be made up, yet at the same time i know my star sign describes me as spot on and I believe. Alot of people also say they don't believe because of fear of the unknown. Since the future is unknown, people tend to be scared of not knowing the future, and therefore not wanting to.

8. Because thy dont relete to the traits of their respective sign.Although i dont agree with mine i find astrology very fascinating and am not that shallow to discard its power just because my sign sucks
9. honestly like every one else has said do what you want. most people where brought up in a highly or semi religious house hold and where taught that astrology and tarot cards and physics are evil. so you just have to push half of them out. and not every one is 100% their signs traits. you can have some but not all it really all depends on what part of the month or what moon you are in and all that stuff. people call astrologers weird-os because they don't understand it and if you can tell them about themselves with out knowing them it scares them, and ppl fear the unknown.

Astrology (all types) is belief oriented that has no evidence of any kind. It is not possible to test a "belief". But any claims that astrologers make are fully testable. People have invested time and money to conduct testing of such claims. The results show that none of these succeed to do better than chance. If you think that astrology does have truth and you can prove this. There is a million dollars waiting for you.
